     On Friday, November 16th, 2018 the Miami-Dade Beacon Council will hold its Annual Meeting and Key Ceremony at the Hotel Intercontinental Hotel; with Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez, County Commissioners and local elected officials and business leaders in attendance.

 

     Among the honorees will be startup tech/fashion company illumiwear, INC. whose driving philosophy - fashion and technology colliding with design and function – is realized in its initial Light Up Scarf™ product.

 

     “Locating resources and partners in an area as large and diverse as Miami is not only daunting, its costly and potentially a dream killer” says Illumiwear™ CEO/Founder James (Jaime) Chailland. “I knew there was an amazing talent and resource pool here. With the guidance of the Beacon Council we were able to connect with the critical networks we needed.”

 

     The annual event draws hundreds of business and community leader attendees with a breakfast reception, main program and key presentation with company showcase and networking opportunities directly after. Honorees receive the Key to the County from Mayor Gimenez along with a thank you for contributing to Miami-Dade’s strong and vibrant economy.
